Karnataka government will
soon provide milk to schoolchildren on all six days in a week under the Ksheera
Bhagya scheme.

It is an innovative and prestigious program of
distributing milk to school and Anganwadi children by the Karnataka Government
· It was launched by Karnataka Milk Federation in association with Lower and Higher
Education Department, Women & Child Department of Karnataka State on 1st August 2013.

working on cooperative principles
· Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) sells products
such as pedha, jalebi, paneer, curds and milk in the name of Nandini.
· Almost every district in state of Karnataka has
milk producing co-operatives. The milk is collected from farmers who are its
members, processed and sold in the market by the brand of Nandini.

It is the second
largest milk co-operative in India after AMUL
