·        The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced the fee structure for government quota seats in private engineering colleges.
·        It has declared a 10 per cent hike.
·        The fee for government quota seats for general merit students in private engineering colleges and minority colleges has two slabs — Rs. 49,500 and Rs. 55,000 a year.
·        The fee in deemed and private universities is Rs. 55,000 a year, which amounts to a 22 per cent hike compared to last year.

·        However, there is no hike for government and aided engineering colleges. The fee remains at Rs. 18,090 a year.
